“The beginning of lockdown was totally surreal. I remember walking the dog in the middle of Camden High Street during rush hour, and I didn’t see a single soul. It was eerie, quiet and felt totally foreign even though I had been doing the same walk for 3 years.
I’m a full-time Yoga teacher and adapted my classes so that I could teach via Zoom and even held classes in the courtyard for the neighbours.
I set up a GoFundMe page where everyone could donate towards NHS charities instead of paying me for the classes. Over the lockdown period we managed to raise £2,832 for the wonderful NHS! It’s the largest sum of money I have ever raised and it felt amazing to do it at this time.
I feel so closely connected to my neighbours now. I hope to continue to teach them and to get to know them further. I feel extremely lucky to be a part of such a kind and generous community.”
