Claire & Champion,
Kentish Town City Farm

“I grew up on Kentish Town City Farm — as a child of a member of staff, pony club kid, young farmer & now my 7th year as a member of staff.

Lockdown has been hard for so many reasons, loved ones have passed, we’ve had skeleton staffing at work, we’ve lost huge amounts of money whilst being shut, we’ve missed all our volunteers & we’ve missed serving our community BUT we’ve also had so many positives come out of this awful uncertain time...

We are a very small working team at the farm, through lockdown we’ve all stuck together.

Since being in lockdown we’ve really increased our content and interaction through our social media platforms, we’ve tried to bring a small snippet of the farm to everyone at home. It’s been so nice to still be able to interact with our farm users & some newbies too.

The community has been a huge support to us, with everyone’s help we’ve completely smashed our crowdfunding target which we can’t thank everybody enough for!!!!!!

As staff we’ve slightly lost the plot with our Sunday lives, from singing songs people request to trying to learn the famous Thriller dance. These have to be my funniest moments throughout lockdown, light-hearted fun that brings a smile to everyone’s faces.

We cannot wait to see more friendly & new faces in the coming weeks/months. The animals have missed you alllllll.”
