“It’s quite rare to know your neighbours, let alone the people that live opposite, but I’ve found this situation has made people more caring and sociable with others.

I miss Thursdays at 8pm! People who may never have considered volunteering before have donated their time to help others in crisis and I think a lot more will continue once this crisis is over – and I hope they do as the effects of COVID will be felt for some time.

I’ve found lockdown to be a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, I’ve had periods where I’ve felt really low and not been able to explain it. I’ve felt disconnected, demotivated, frustrated and even anxious at times.

On the other hand, it’s pushed me to start my own business, it’s allowed me to develop new skills, it’s strengthened my relationships, it’s allowed me to volunteer, it’s made me feel part of a community and it’s made me appreciate the simpler things in life.”
